I hope everyone had a great 4Th of July!! We had a nice and relaxing one with just the right mix of seeing friends and spending time together as a family. In the morning, we headed out for the annual 4Th of July parade. It lasted 50 minutes!! Such a big parade for such a little town! The girls really enjoyed it and got lots of candy. Jadens favorite part was the horses and Cael seemed to enjoy anything that made a loud noise. Lots of fun.
Then, we headed over to a friend of Tads
where many of our friends were gathered for a BBQ. It was good to visit with friends and let the kids run, swim, and play. They had a fun time. After that, we headed home for nap time, Cael was exhausted and slept 3 hours!! During which, we enjoyed the outdoors and Tad got the lawn mowed.
After supper, we headed out to Independence for the fireworks. They were
awesome!! The girls enjoyed sparklers while waiting and Cael appeared more interested in checking out the stroller wheels and how they worked (yes, he is his father's son:)
All the kids seemed to enjoy the fireworks. Jaden only plugged her ears for the loud ones and talked about all the bright colors; Skylar watched them quietly and when they got really loud, she hid her eyes and just peeked at them; Cael was in awe by them for a while and just watched. Then, he got really comfortable on me and fell asleep with about 10 minutes left (Papa would be proud). Great day for us. Tad and I decided that it really is the best holiday- no stress, no shopping, no running around frantically. Instead, you get to enjoy the outdoors, BBQ's, parades, and best of all, FIREWORKS!! The 4Th of July ROCKS!!

We enjoyed watching the parade with you! Your kiddos are absolutely adorable. I just love all the blonde hair. Hopefully we can get together for a playdate real soon!
I agree there is not anything worse than trying on swimsuits!
